We hope you had a meaningful Labor Day, taking a moment to recognize the contributions of workers and the value of rest. September always feels like a restart—a season of fresh notebooks, new routines, and renewed intentions. It’s also a month of reflection and awareness, as we honor National Recovery Month, National Suicide Awareness Month, and the busyness of back-to-school life. As we carry the energy of August’s Wellness Month forward, we’re reminded that true balance comes from caring for ourselves, setting boundaries between work and family, and making space for the practices that keep us grounded and well.
Here are a few ideas to help you recharge this month:
- Drink more water. A simple goal is half your body weight in ounces each day. Even being slightly dehydrated can affect your focus and mood.
- Take a tech break. Try a 24-hour pause from social media or screen time. Your brain will thank you.
- Check your finances. See if there’s a bill, subscription, or expense you can cut back on (I’m looking at you, coffee and ice cream). Small changes add up over time.
- Move more often. Stand, stretch, or walk a little every hour — it helps with energy, circulation, and clarity.
A few quick wellness facts worth knowing:
- Just two minutes of movement every hour can give your energy a boost.
- Gratitude practices aren’t just feel-good — they’ve been linked to better sleep and less stress.
- One extra glass of water a day can help with alertness.
And remember, LECSA is here for more than just “big” problems. We offer confidential counseling, caregiving connections, and tools to support you at work and at home.

Frequently Asked Questions
- "How do I attend something?" Trainings are held virtually or on site in groups, though individuals are seen alone unless otherwise requested (marriage session, parenting session). We offer in person and virtual services.
- "Do I get to choose the counselor or the treatment center?" Yes. Our work together is often to help you find the right fit for therapy, substance use treatment, marriage counselor, parent coach, etc. We assist in the footwork of locating a resource that meets your needs, is in network with your insurance provider, close to home, etc.
- "What if I need help outside of the scope of your services?" That is a huge part of the work we do. We handle certain topics within our clinicians first and collaborate alongside you until you've been successfully connected to the resource you need.
A Final Word
We hope this month brings you moments of peace, strength, and renewal. Whatever challenges you may be facing, know that you’re not alone—and that support is always within reach. Here's to finding hope in the little things and moving forward, one day at a time.
With care and gratitude,
